When it comes to education, nothing less than a total commitment will do. You want children to give their all in the classroom, and you want them to attend quality schools that bring out their best.
We share the community's commitment to quality education, which has been a top priority at The Irvine Company for decades as we have worked to build strong communities on The Irvine Ranch.
The school improvement agreement for East Orange provides a total of $76 million for the Orange Unified School District to use as needed-more than twice the required $29 million in development fees for school improvements.
By the time the new communities of Santiago Hills II and East Orange are completed in eight to 10 years, projections show that about 1,169 K-8 students and 350 high school students will be added.
The Irvine Company will provide funds to build a K-8 school and to modernize and expand existing schools. Plans include updating and expanding facilities at Chapman Hills Elementary School and making substantial improvements to El Modena High School or expanding capacity at Peralta High School if this facility is constructed.
Careful planning has gone into this school agreement to make sure that it goes well beyond the basics and covers 100% of the cost of serving all new students generated by our project.
